The Importance of High-Quality Content

You don't have to be a professional photographer with a £10k setup to create high-quality, professional-level content. All you need is a half-decent phone, lots of natural light and a 'pin-board' of photos that inspire you to get ideas from.
Poor quality photos may be enough to entice people to subscribe to your profiles but they may not be enough to keep subs long term, so getting the hang of creating amazing looking photos (& videos) should be a priority for any creator.
What we consider to be low-quality content
Blurry (out of focus), 'grainy' (not enough light), the same poses, the same outfits (if any), the same location. These are the main points in a nutshell but if your content ticks one of these boxes don't worry, it doesn't necessarily mean your content is low-quality, as the same poses may be all you need, the same outfit(s) may be your unique selling point or grainy may match your aesthetic.
We only usually class content as low-quality when more than one of these are included over an extended period of time and it's not done intentionally.
Low-quality content is better than no content
If you think that all you're creating is low-quality content, please don't stop, as any content is better than none and even the lowest-quality photos and videos imaginable can still get you started.
Don't let this article put you off creating. Just get your camera and start shooting photos and videos and post them. Start with anything a build from there. You can then learn along the way and perhaps collaborate with photographers in the future to build a very high-quality collection of content.
Does low-quality content affect how much you can charge?
Short answer: Yes. Long asnwer: Like most things in life, if it looks expensive, people can charge more for it. If subs are seeing well lit photos & videos, different outfits, different locations/scenes etc then they will be mentally prepared to spend more. This can make the difference between being able to charge $25 per month instead of $10 per month.
However, there are always exceptions that prove the rule. The 'homemade' vibe is what many potential subs are looking for, such as the 'girl-next-door' look. If you're successful on social media just showing your daily life then selfies in your bedroom next to your bedside lamp may be just what they're looking for, a genuinely amateur set of photos that seem to have been made with no intention of anyone seeing them.
If this is the vibe you're going for then definitely go for it. But if you want to stand the best chance of long term, sustainable growth with you potentially joining the '$1million a month club' then you need to start boosting the quality of your content to a professional level.
